About

Focused on uplifting lived experiences and valuing the voices of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), Penelton Interactive builds authentic and collaborative engagement into its leadership and professional development services. Specifically, we provide workshops, consulting, and guest speakers for private companies and non-profit organizations who want to elevate their practices, develop better leaders, and enhance the feeling of belonging in their offices.

Owner and founder, Triveece Penelton, AICP, NOMA, is an award-winning city planner and public involvement innovator with over 20 years of experience. Listening is central to her practice and she is among the 2% of Americans who have had listening training. Working hand in hand with trusted partners, her work has won national and state competitions for engagement, journalism, and communications along with a NOMA NAACP Seed Award for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) in Design.

Determined to turn a viral event with a public official into a teachable moment, Triveece developed the Power and Impact of Words  professional development session. She won a WTS Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award for her efforts. An energetic speaker and facilitator, Triveece continues to educate groups on the session's topics. She also actively speaks to audiences about how power impacts not only BIPOC professional development and personal branding, but also the built environment, community engagement, and organizational culture.

She developed the Power Series™  as a process to help firms and non-profits explore the idea of belongining and enhance their organizational transformation efforts, so both staff and leaders feel they are seen, heard, and belong. Via the Power Series™, participants explore 10 interrelated topics: trust, relationships, color, media, stories, curiosity, collaboration, leadership, culture, and authentic engagement. The effort stimulates the beginnings of an elevated and enhanced company culture anchored in a mindset of belonging.

In the wake of COVID-19 and the American Public Health Association declaring racism a public health crisis, Triveece joined a trans-disciplinary collective of professionals from across the United States and Canada to collaboratively launch a new initiative: Planning for Health Equity, Advocacy & Leadership (PHEAL). As a founder and advisor, she strives to introduce PHEAL-thinking to others.
