Triveece Penelton, AICP, NOMA
Turning decades of planning and engagement experience into practical frameworks for sustained leadership growth.
Leadership Grounded in Practice
Founder Triveece Penelton, AICP, NOMA, is an award-winning city planner, public-involvement innovator, speaker, and facilitator with more than 20 years of experience. Listening is central to her practice, supported by formal listening training. Working with trusted partners, her projects have earned national and state recognition for engagement, planning, journalism, and communications. Her work has also received a NOMA NAACP Seed Award for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Design.
The firm’s practical leadership work grew from Triveece’s development of The Power and Impact of Words, which turned a widely shared public incident into a teachable leadership moment. The session earned her a WTS Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award and became a foundation for her work with leaders and professional teams.
Her speaking and facilitation examine how power shapes communication, professional development, personal branding, the built environment, community engagement, and organizational culture. Based in Kansas City, Penelton Interactive serves regional organizations and selectively supports national clients through professional networks, associations, conferences, and multi-office partnerships.
Frameworks for Sustained Leadership Development
Triveece developed the Power Series™ to help organizations move from conversation to practical leadership behavior. Participants build shared language, examine real workplace dynamics, practice useful approaches, and make clear commitments they can apply with teams and stakeholders. The 10 interrelated topics are The Power of Trust, The Power of Relationships, The Power of Color, The Power of Media, The Power of Your Story, The Power of Curiosity, The Power of Collaboration, The Power of Leadership, The Power of Culture, and The Power of Authentic Engagement. Individual sessions can serve as an entry point to a longer leadership-development or organizational-change effort.
Complementing the Power Series™, Triveece brings a health-equity and advocacy lens to leadership, planning, and engagement work through her role as a founder and advisor to Planning for Health Equity Advocacy & Leadership (PHEAL). This transdisciplinary initiative was created by professionals across the United States and Canada in response to COVID-19 and the recognition of racism as a public health crisis, and it informs work requiring cross-sector collaboration.
Grounded in practice and designed for lasting impact, Triveece helps leaders turn complexity into clear, collaborative action. Start with one leadership challenge.
